Introduction:
The Department of English was established with the establishment of the institution in 1983. Optional English has been introduced as a subject from 1998 and from this year Optional English Department was established taking into consideration the importance of English as an international language. English is important in the world of globalization. It is the language of world knowledge. It is of vital importance in the present scenario. Taking into account the basic and primary academic needs of the rural students, the Department conducts extra classes as per the demand of time and the need of the students. The faculties promote them to build vocabulary and various exercises related to communication skills. To enhance the communication skills all the efforts are taken. To patch up with the need of globalization, the department has established an independent language laboratory. The students avail of this opportunity to enhance their pronunciation skills. The Department of English is associated with various disciplines and faculties like B.A., B.Com. B.C.A., and B. Voc. The faculties work for over all English enhancements of the official and other works.

Objective :
- To decrease fear of English among the students.
- To enable them to learn better pronunciation.
- To enable the students to use English in day to day communication.
- To acquaint them with the literary genres like drama, poetry, novel, short-story etc.
